Jimmy McGee
Verse 1:
I met him back in 1982
And right away he suggested something I ought to do
It was a workshop he said was something to behold
It was important to do before I got old
That’s how I got to know Jimmy McGee
He made a pretty big impression on me
Verse 2:
Transformation was the workshop theme
All I remember, it was pretty extreme
When it was over you were meant to tell the world
To come and join the transformation team
That’s where Jimmy’s talent shone through
I watched him invite everybody he knew
Chorus:
Jimmy’d say:
You should try it
You’re going to love it
It changed my life and it’ll change yours too
It’s remarkable, extraordinary
It’s something that I really think you ought to do
Verse 3:
I tried a lotta things cuz Jimmy encouraged me
Like yoga, pilates and homeopathy
Acupuncture, Rajneesh and meditation
And some other things that I probably shouldn’t mention
Most everything I’ve ever done to fix up my life
Were the result of Jimmy’s advice
Bridge:
Jimmy’s been searching all of his days
For ways to change the world in significant ways
He was clear that job will never get done
Unless he shares his insights with everyone
Verse 4:
Sometimes I listened to what Jimmy suggested
I’ll try it out at least once or twice
Then I’d come by to tell him that he’d made a difference
And thank him for his advice
He’ll say thanks but that was so yesterday
Let me tell you what I’m in to today
Chorus:
Jimmy’d say:
You should try it
You’re going to love it
It changed my life and it’ll change yours too
It’s remarkable, extraordinary
It’s something that I really think you ought to do
Verse 5:
These days Jimmy’s over 80 years old
You’d think that he would finally start to slow down
But if anything it looks as though he’s just got started
Still getting excited about ideas he’s found
Now he swears that he’s finally discovered the way
To make being old seem almost Ok
Chorus:
Jimmy’d say:
You should try it
You’re going to love it
It changed my life and it’ll change yours too
It’s remarkable, extraordinary
It’s something that I really think you ought to do
